Isn't Virtanen still being investigated for sexual assault? Gadjovich or Lind probably make more sense and save an extra 1.7mil.

Who is trading for Tarasenko and giving 1st and a prospect while team retaining 2 million. Blues would do this deal in a heart beat now. |

Instead of the gift card, can you just ask Ek to provide an update on who won the mask? I refuse to enter any more contests when we didn't get a single update on that one. No standings. No declared winner. Nobody knows where the mask is. |

Come on Sean… this roster is a total pipe dream.
Their actual selection will likely be surprising to you and they’ll be lucky to sign 1 or 2 UFAs and you won’t like those contracts. |

Would love to see Seattle take Borgen. On about every chart I have seen he is not making the NHL roster and would need to be sent to the AHL. However, at 24 he has to pass through waivers (unless somehow Seattle is exempt). Sabres have first pick of waivered players and could get him back for virtually nothing. |

Sean you do realize that Danault turned down $30M over 6 years and that offer is still apparently on the table |

Here's a question.
If Seattle goes straight through the draft without picking up additional assets like Vegas did (Karlsson/1st/Clarkson) is it considered a meh or bad draft? |

Vegas only looks like geniuses because Tuch, Karlsson, Theodore, March and Reilly worked out
At the time it seemed like Reilly was overpaid and that's why they got March
They got Tuch instead of Dumba, both good players
Karlsson instead of Atkinson
Theodore was the real steal
They pissed away all the 1st round picks
Vegas is good because of all the moves they made AFTER the draft in subsequent years. Stone, Patches, Pietrangelo. Overall their asset management has been pretty terrible IMO
Tatar trade, Suzuki instead of Glass for Patches, or just keep both and sign Patches as a FA, same argument for Stone |

Your logic is a little flawed there because in order to get the players that made them good (Pacioretty and Stone) they traded away those first round picks. Didn't really piss them away.

I'll stick with my budget lineup from last blog, just changing slightly to accommodate the Florida pick (even though I think they should just wait until after the draft to sign him, it doesn't sound like they will).
All requirements met, 71.4M/81.5M (plus extra for new Driedger deal).
JVR - Gourde - Donskoi

Then go out and talk to the UFA's and teams needing to dump talent. |
